What a cool event tht was well done the crew.
As always it was great being at the event because of the great atmosphere and stuff even for people new to certain games..
(cheers Shadow for the help with ET)
Battlefield does rock but the Sniper needs more ammo!! :)
i would also like to thank the Duckncover, gump & Frog from PLAN B GAMING (sry if i missed any 1) for use of there machines, which were great and providing me some good games at CnC Generals.. Are they at the next event?
But for the next event there should be a ban on tht damn talking fish!! wht a piece of junk yes it is funny the 1st time but not thru the whole event.
CU all @ the next event

Yeap thumbs up to the tBG crew this was definately an improvement and most of the points made from the last LAN seem to have been picked up.
Plus points for me...
PlanB = Superb idea not sure if it can be financially viable as properly licensed machines cannot be cheap as chips. I had a couple of niggles mainly the OS (Win98 currently) and the onboard Graphics both of which I believe they are going to work on. I would recommend the ?10 fee if the above areas are addressed. Well done PlanB and thanks for all the help hopefully you have recovered from my attempts to poison you with Minced pies.
Atmosphere = Definately a better buzz this event and the Projector thingy actually worked this time and was less annoying and more fun (And not so loud). Talking of loud the sound levels definately seemed more manageable this time round sorry but I missed the talking fish.
Gaming = Lots more gaming this time round with a game of CS always on the boil and normally something else going on and hey I even managed to get a game of ET in before the server died.
Scheduling = I think we definately benefited from the timetable even if it was like 24 hours out of whack within 24 hours. Loved the quiz did'nt like the idea of being last in the Pizza queue though :)
Bad points for me...
Power cuts = Not actually that much of a pain but nobody likes power cuts. The projector guy benefited as he seemd impervious to the power outages.
Cold Pizza = Might I suggest you get the buggers to deliver or make two trips my Pizza was like carboard.
Website = This was kept a secret and it would of been nice if it could have been advertised a bit more maybe in the handout.
Confusing Bf tourney = Not actually sure what happened with this tourney I played in like 6 maps which I believed may have been tourney maps.
Overall more good than bad and to be honest I have stretched things a little on the bad. Will be mouching along to tBG 13 thats for sure.

Lol so really u were well confused!
sorry but I missed the talking fish. U deaf man? It was sooo anoying, i was as far from it as i could get, and could still hear it
oved the quiz did'nt like the idea of being last in the Pizza queue though :)
Well im sorry, u do it next time :)
Confusing Bf tourney = Not actually sure what happened with this tourney I played in like 6 maps which I believed may have been tourney maps. Yeah it was slighty, but all actual tournie games were announced, and jynx may still ave the scores
Overall it rocked thou right? even [ouk] didnt moan much!

It was my third tbg and the best one yet. Once the BF tourney got off the ground, i thought it was pretty good...although the map choice for the last one was a bit dubious...
I also enjoyed the projector games...I missed out on them last tbg but they are great fun. Highly recommended to anyone who hasn't tried playing them yet.
Power outages were a bit annoying, but not much can be down about accidents i suppose.
The timetable was a good idea as well even if it wasn't that accurate.
Loved the quiz did'nt like the idea of being last in the Pizza queue though :)
May I suggest that next time you sit next to tubbyman? Not only did he win the quiz but he has a sixth sense to when the pizza arrives! :p He has been first in the pizza line 4 years running!
Anyways, very good event. Looking forward to the next one already. My thanks to the crew.

glad you enjoyed the event guys, and thanks for the feedback.
in response to the power issue, we were really frustrated too by the cuts, but they came from us simply overloading the 63a 3 phase power coming into the building (thats alot of power!) - we'll sort it for next time.

lol...if someone blows a fuse out there it could put the whole area without power...
can see the headlines now: "Big Game Results in County Wide Black Out"
Blackstar

I'd pay to see that headline!
BirdofPrey
01-07-2004, 06:25 PM
Yeah we would pay if that happened! But the headline would be more like:
"University student causes countrywide blackout"
even thou it wasnt the said students fault this time, he dosnt ave a great track record!
Yep, as you said we are working on that, we will probably be getting NT pretty soon.
Just finished the new w2k image, and now Call of Duty works :)
Saving for some radeon 9600xt's atm, hopefully in time for tbg13. Trying to find sponsorship or at least some kind of discout as you would have thought buying a dozen of something would even vuagly interest a retails but as we found out when buying the machines that it was nothing to them :| Hopefully we can find a video card manufacturer who wants to reach the gaming market and show of their radeon 9800xt's.. (/me carrys on dreaming)
cheers to everyone who helped make it a great weekend, wether organising or atending.

Still, i'm sure we'd all find it very amusing, while the british government would want to take t***y**n to study what it is that makes things break down around him.
