Hello all,

I have been using my specially converted chopping board as a mousemat for a while now and although it generally meets my needs I am thinking of upgrading to a pro gaming surface.

I wondered what you guys are using and if there are any recomendations or warnings about any of the types avaliable.

What happened to those black marble blocks?

They would rule if they were thinner, had a non slip back and a wrist rest!

(not much really then!)

well atm, i'm using an old business studdies exercise book :) when it gets dirty i simply turn the page. also, it doubles up as a handy note pad! extremely useful if u have a tiny desk

Jynx

A desk!!!! Spend some cash and make your mouse happy that it no longer gets splinters and can move with vastly more accuracy than ever before

[this salesman gets no money what so ever fo selling Pro Gaming Surfaces :P]

Everglide Gigantica, Like a Ratpad is demands space, its smooth and its a cool shape, unlike Ratpadz Everglide sponored the BIG GAME.

Go with Everglide.

SlyDave

Not big enought to lose it then, heh.

But seriously, the EGG is a good pad, Ratpad maybe ever so slightly better, but it really depends on what kind of surface you like, the Ratpad is a must if you have a ball mouse, but with a optical mouse it isn't so important to have an ultra smooth surface, in fact the ultra smoothness can make it feel too smooth and cause your mouse to slide around if the surface is uneven :( but I sould still recommend an EGG (the pad, not a chickens child). Even jim first post said EGG, but then he deleted it and said ratpad so's not to be in agreence with addz :)

I recommend the Surface 1030 from Func

http://www.func.net

Jynx
03-09-2004, 01:40 PM
Cheers Tau that seems like a really good price for a well designed surface. What are the two sides like? Is it the same one you have?

Tubby is not alone.. i dont use a mouse matt
i c tht OCUK do some nice mouse surfaces, and it does make a difference with the optical mice in terms of feel
my parent's pc has an optical mouse with a matt and it does "feel" better than my mouse on my pc which does not have a matt.. both are logitech Optical mice btw the basic 2 button with a roller wheel and i think there great

i love my 5 button microsoft optical wheel mouse most handy for web pages and other things plus it goes well with my microsoft multimedia deluxe keyboard which has to be the best keyboard i've ever used plus it was only ?14.00

am i the only one who just uses a desk?

it looks like the true pros, like you and myself, are the ones who use the desk.

Argh, we even both use a 5 button mouse, with myself having the Intellimouse Explorer. Looks like it's a winning combination to be good at BF, BF:DC & BF:V ;)

ohhh ohhh, how about a mouse mate covered in ice uaing somthin like liquid nitrogen...you could call it "mice on ice". They'd sell in the millions! You could even design some trendy ice skates for the mouse.

Spleenus

Actually, I now own a QPAD with skates :o and my mouse flies across the pad.

Ratpad for me :)

SlyDave
09-14-2009, 11:50 PM
Ratpad of course.

When the world ends, and all that is left are cockroaches, Twinkie bars and my mothers home cooking; hidden under the remains of our discarded civilisation will also be a few Ratpadz, for they are indestructible. When dreams die, hope fails and everything we know disintegrates, the Ratpad will remain.
