Hi
Internal hardisks are a lot of trouble for us but external ones are fine (the games machines have USB2). No problems with gfx cards, so long as you give us the details 14days before the lan, along with the time you are going to show up.
Hope that helps

p.s. we take no responsbility for any hardware given to us to install in our machines, and that users are free to attach external devices at their own risk.

I got my beak in early so hope to have secured one of the boxes. The sign up indicated number 3 on the list :D
I mainly wanted to see the benefit of such a box as I would probably be interested in useing your service for future events. For me the fact that you have so many games loaded and ready to play is a real bonus. I only normally plany HL related games ans ET nowadays so when the inevitable BF1942 sessions starts I end up looking for a copy to install for the LAN.
I have an external USB HD drive too which gives me a best of both worlds scenario at least that was the plan.

The sign up indicated number 3 on the list :D Due to the database crash that number is slightly incorrect :( We are still going through the sign up information to work out who wants what. I belive the number is a wee bit higher, but I do know its not over 10 yet. so there are still some machines if anyone is intrested.
On that note. if you have signed up but didn't say you were intretrested and now have changed your mind, please let me know either by emailing me or posting in this thread.
To secure your planB machine, like your place at the event its self you must have paid :) so if you haven't payed yet! gogo! :D

Oh yes, a few more things...will all the PlanB machines be situated together or will they be set up where the person wishes to sit.
Also what is your policy about eating a drinking near the machines?
Do the machines come fully fitted? I.e. do we need to bring anything in the way of RAM, Keyboards, Mouse etc.

It is up to the admins how the machines will be set up. So you will have to speak to them.

D
You can eat and drink while using the machines (though no defication drills are to be performed within 5meters of a PlanB Machine)

The machines come with everything inc. headset (stereo with mic), joystick, optical mice, keyboards.

Does this include mats for optical mice as this can be a problem with the table surfaces if not. Just asking as I had to build my own mat out of a fairy liquid bottle and some sticky tape (double sided of course) but I still came last at CS (yes I am blaming the lack of a mat for being crap)

we've also got some mousemats sent over from corsair (http://www.corsairmicro.com/) who are sponsoring the event, so people who forget theirs can have one of those :)

After being asked by numerous people whether they can use harddrives with our machines I am posting a link to some hardware that will allow people to change their internal drives to external.
http://www.ebuyer.com/customer/products/index.html?action=c2hvd19wcm9kdWN0X292ZXJ2aWV3&product_uid=43759
People can use external Harddrives and storage devices on our machines but not internal ones.
Hope this helps
