Games you'll need for tBG 25

Hiya all,

With just under 2 Months to the event. We thought we'd release a games list of games you'll need for maximum enjoyment at the event.

Quake 3
CS:S
Left 4 Dead
Team Fortress 2
Call of Duty Modern Warefare
Battlefield 2 and 2142
UT2k4
Trackmania
Company of Heroes
Supreme Commander
Dawn Of War
Rome or Empire Total War
to name by afew.

We'll do our best to keep this list updated. But if you can come with a PC ready to play afew of those games listed above you should be all set for a cracking event.

We'll shortly be releasing versions of servers we will be running, but its basically the latest version of everything. Patches and game mods can be got off the file server at the event.

Only problem with LFS is the low player cap in the unregistered version. That said, more players may just mean we stand even less chance of making it round the first corner :P

How about some call of juarez bound in blood, 16v16 cops and robbers, have to break into the bank or rob an ammo stockpile etc.

Ive got the images and theres no code so anyone could play it :P

Have you guys heard of World in Conflict - it looks like a really cool (and pretty) RTS game that is almost made for multiplayer.

Reading the reviews you work in teams to capture and hold strategic points, with players selecting a "class" that allows only certain items to be constructed. Think Tank commander working with an Air commander to take a point.

ye i brought world in conflict afew months ago. i didn't think much of it to be honest. I much MUCH prefer company of heroes and empire or rome total war and would recommend them to all who like RTS games

As to my post in another thread. Mechwarrior 4 will soon be available for free (including expansions). I reckon it could be a fun LAN game =D

well if its a free addon i'm sure if enough people have BF which i'm sure most people do i dont see why we cant try and have a game of it. Though just remember to bring the mod installer with you to share at the lan.

You can download maps, but I prefer the official maps, as most of the custom ones start to get a bit crazy after a while, and with all the funky camera angles people use, it gets a bit... Yeah.

Yeh, Nadeo maps are much better because they are well laid out, where as some custom maps are too long and sometimes not even one person in a whole server can complete 1 lap.

Also would anyone be interested in doing some co-op on ArmA 2 as this game really comes alive playing with other people?

Wouldnt mind playing some 1nsane, its an old racer that i know Arcus (sp?) likes to play, its 8 player only though! Some proper games of L4D would be nice too!

Gazzaridis - ARMA2! hell ye! Several of us ARK guys have it and will be playing abit of it through the event no doubt! the more guns the better! L4D has gottan alot better recently with the addition of survival mode.

L4D's lost its appeal with me, but I'm hoping with my PC upgrades next week, I can join you guys in some ARMAII

I agree, after playing l4d and completing the campaigns on insane i find the game really boring now, and yes the more guns the better on ArmA 2 with enough ppl can be the best game out there

Hmm, been considering whether to get arma, but I suspect I wouldn't play it outside of lans, but is fairly cheap on zavvi I suppose.. hm

Also, anyone bringing a Force Feedback stearing wheel? One of the good ones, not the pappy vibrating ones. I wouldnt mind getting daytona USA going, even over the network if people are up for it.

upto 8, its a bit of a fiddle to get it working over a network (you have to edit a file with and ip address of the net person along the chain, since it emulates token ring)

on the ARMA2 front, have they fixed the amazing AI, which can shoot you like 21 km away?

Had a major issue with that, starting off, having a firefight with a smaller group of insurgents and then getting headshotted by one guy, with just a regular m16 who was 21,325m away, aparently

talking of insurgents, how about insurgency, a free source mod :)
