My copy finally arrived this afternoon thanks to the wonders of the Royal Mail and oh your god! (10 points to anyone who knows where that is from) its the most amazing game ever! the graphics are superb and finally choppers that even i can fly! yes thats right i can fly them your haven't had a dog fight until you have faced someone in a chopper its amazing you must buy it

Really? I was disapointed with it, I found it was a bit jerky and the graphics were quite cartoony. It also seems to take ages to load. I dont like the grass and stuff much either and I found the heavy assualt was too powerful. I havent experiemented fully with the different modes of transport and spawns but it seems to have so great new features. Spawn capture timers is a great feature.

Great new features and improved concept but give me the old system with those changes please.

my gfx are fine, there are ALOT of driver issues with it, esp on radion cards

By the gfx are cartoony i mean the actual style, looks a bit XIII or Worms3Dish to me.

hmmm not sure i see what you mean about cartoony looks fine too me, the load times are about the same for me as normal BF and I think generally its a better package haven't really found anything i don't like yet

What i thought they looked quite good, admittedly the DC textures are much better (read more detailed,) but the visual style of the whole game is complete, all the objects and textures fit in. Admittedly the gfx arnt photo reaslistic, but they look good in the game. The haevy assault class is being heavly discussed on the forums, but apparently the point is that the NVA are sly and steathy, nit like the Americans who are brute forced based. Its still umballanced, and a heat bar is probably gonna be added (like in DC) in the 1.1 patch. Also the chopper ballance is good, well it will be till people work out that the sights are off, and if you aim below things you can hit them. Napalm sucks on the game, and so does joystick usage in game. The tanks and APC's are well ballanced (ie there the same with different models,) and the fact that the mig is piss easy to shoot down with heat seeking missiles on the Phantom, but these work well ballancing out the US chopper strength. Also the loading times are smaller than DC on my, i dont seem 2 have a problem with them.
Dice have gone for an interesting game idea. Mainly as historically the Americans won every battle (even thought they lost the war, but that was politically based, not millitarly based.) Now Dice have tried to make a ballanced multiplayer game, that cant be ballanced due to the historical nature of the game.

soem good points there pete not really tried heavy assult class tbh but certainly the choppers have come along way and i welcome the added extra of the lifting hook and artificial horizon very useful as to airlfit something its easier to use an exteranl view and you need to check you are straight and level

Sounds like a good game...won't be able to play for a month though <sob> <sob> <sob> . . . ordered it in but it didn't arrive b4 i left Uni. Now i'm in Surrey and it's in Newcastle...damn it!
