What did you like about tBG25? Boring? fun? problems? getting pwnd alot:cool:
I had problems with my pc with the whole locking up:(

I thought it was great fun, pizza was perfect including temperature, the pub quiz was difficult but very funny with the team names I also recognized some of the sounds in there.
What did need improving was more games up near the end.

Thanks to the people who tried to fix my pc. http://img15.imageshack.us/img15/375/joystickw.jpg

Thanks to everyone who attended the event and congratulations to Ghost for taking home the BIG GAMER Golden joystick, Steelseries Siberia Headset and Crucial Ballistix RAM.

What did you like and what didn't you - how was the pub quiz (too hard?) - enjoy the tournaments, any particular highlights?

We want to know, so post below!

Overall pretty good, though the organisation did seem a bit more haphazard than even usual, with events seemingly changing at random etc :p

And the quiz was ok, though the anagram round really should have had some kind of theme to help.

Also, I think I may have lost my sunglasses over the weekend, if any turned up during packing up?

Good event! Nice to see people from all over the country coming. More offical games would be nice, if a staff member annouces a game people flock where as a lot of servers go empty if its just one of the joe public peeps organising it.

Highlights-

Quake 3 tourny was silly awesome, props to whoever thought of it in the staff team.
Big (laggless ;) ) TF2 games
Amount of porn on the network

Let downs -

Power? wtf happened?
Lack of RTS games!
bizzare organisation
No variety (COD 4, its getting old)

You got it working in the end right? Was it dust or something else? I saw you had a can of air.

Fun event as always! Grats to Ghost, well played!

Pros:
Quake 3
Good pub quiz (seemed more organised than previous ones ^_^)
Network was quick and reliable
No real big problems - power tripped for a short time but nothing else!
Access to the fridge again
Good toilet facilities

Cons:
No RTS in the Tourney
No projector Guitar Hero/Rock Band
Would be great to have some way to get our own hosted games announced other than the shoutbox, as people tend to either not notice it or not know who to talk to about the notices!
More emphasis and variety for the tourney games! Let everyone know about the timings at the event start, which games are being played etc. and have more variety. There are RPG/RTS, hell even console games, beat-em-ups, or you can even do some timed challenges (fastest player gets most points) with racers or some RTS missions or something to spice it up a bit! There's lots more out there NOT JUST FPS GAMES PLX! :¬P I can even put some more ideas together for you guys if you don't feel like doing it yourselves! ^_^

Overall great weekend as usual and see you all at Christmas for the next one!

Yeah, more variety definitely, some rts or other, perhaps a proper racing game in there somewhere? or a few more quirky things?

Yes, but it locked up again. So I just used the laptop instead. It's running better at home oh and btw - I think you left the CoD4 cd behind, I found it on top of my pc *whoops* - I put it on the table so I am guessing somebody took it.

Thought I would give my feedback seeing as I don't think I've fed back from the last 2 LANS.

Pros:-
- Great Atmosphere
- Excellent number of people there
- Late night Left 4 Dead
- Q3 Tourney was great fun
- Pizza run

Cons:-
- Pub Quiz just too random for the less than fanatically hardcore gamer
- No Console element to the Golden Joystick (would be nice to see a driving game)
- Not enough big games
- Trackmania is tooo frustrating

Otherwise another good event guys power problems kinda went unnoticed for me as I was getting curry or asleep :)

Well a cracking event for me, but I always enjoy LANs :)

Pro's
.A disabled toilet and shower.
.Meeting new people.
.Pizza ordering system.
.Playing the odd new game here and there. (new to me i mean)
.Free stuff!!
.More free stuff!!
.Finding out that Dominoes are still in business !!!!

Cons
.Opening the curtains during a tourney. ( first time it's happened to me at a LAN), but you addressed the issue once you were asked to close them.
No organisation for tourneys. You asked people to play a 5 v 5 , but didn't give them the tools on the intranet to add their teams (saving you more work and waiting time.) or announce them over the PA until it was so close to the game time that everyone was rushing around to get in a team.
.Power outage
.Network Faults. (Both downers, but fixed )
.Having to leave early due to "prior" commitments (My anniversary!!)
.Having no game skill!!
.Pub quiz. Unless you play games 24/7 or had google on your phone it was shall we say way too hard. (yes i did notice :) .) Do you think adding some more general knowledge questions could be possible?

On the whole a great LAN and thank you for having me.
Next time i'll bring my bacon and bread and do bacon sarnies. ( Forgot to bring them !)

Though I did miss having a themed non gaming round, I liked the family guy/a-team rounds last two times. Adds a bit more variety and all.

Don't go too easy on the quiz though.

I actually think a lot more games get played now than in previous LANs and I enjoyed everything on the whole.

* Good Atmosphere
* Always able to get a game of something
* Facilities have improved alot which I guess we should thank the taxpayer and I pay a lot of tax so should have my own toilet.
* Getting my fix of pizza
* Not a quake fan but survived two rounds and both close and good fun. Not sure that would of been the case if I had drawn the wrong person though.
* Some good TF2, And it is always worth being an Engie when your spanner is a good as mine.

The not so goods

* Power outage - not had one for a while was only a minor annoyance for me anyway.
* When at a LAN it should be like a concrete bunker only unatural light should ever be used.
* Missed out on Supreme commander

The Quiz - The quiz is fun and tbh I could not take it seriously the questions are very specialised, lets face it even if you come last your only waiting about 5 minutes more. If we wanted to get the scores up or maybe give others a chance then yeah shack it up a bit make it easier but the format is otherwise fine.

Competitions - I would like to see a broader range of scoring possibilities but this becomes more subjective such as, I dont know whatever rather than just the being in the winning team or coming first, It might also be a good idea to award more points to participating to ensure more join. Also as Blackdeamon suggests we have had more fun in the competitions in the past such as Mario Karts and alike.

Snacks, if you leave your shares on and bearing in mind that the competitions can become quite disjointed then it is inevitable you may get leached.

For my first tbg i thought it was awesome,

The only thing that couldve been improved was more organised games happening as when you announce a big game of something, usually around half maybe more people will all join in to play,, whereas if its organised by a non crew member only get a gew guys playing.

Also even though I am an fps gamer I think it wouldve been nice to see some other games being played like some GRID that has some good multiplayer modes and even some RTS games

All in all a good event ty guys

Hey, thought this event was really great good work lads.

Pros:
- New faces.
- Network speeds were immense.
- Taylors death cake mmmm.
- Lots of cool gaming going on the tournements were fun if not challenging.
- beer mmmm.
- Pizza run with family guy. Always a classic.
- Pub quiz as usual although getting told off by Taylor cause of some of our answers somehow insulted his mother. Can't think how.

Cons:
- Power outage was a bit lame but not your fault.
- God damn vista wouldn't run DK2 so didn't get a game going.
- Tournements although good were difficult to participate in unless you spent alot of time practising said games. Bring back projector games in the tourney and what not spice up the variety and give us now less hardcore gamers(damn jobs and girlfriends grr :P) a chance.
- Anogram round in the quiz needed some sort of association to make it easier.

Suggestions:
- Maybe some sort of way of organising games through some sort of medium like a web board or something similar. Just to make organsing games easier. The shoutbox is good but the projector is not always available and can sometimes get a little bit spammed. :P
- Can putty thing dress up as santa at the christmas lan?
