Mindfull of the date it would seem slightly careless of the organisers if this was indeed a wind up. This has all the hallmarks of a windup that can easily backfire.
Of course this could be legitimate in which case I will wait for the Organisers to contact me.

Yes it was an April fools joke. Allbeit a very careless one I think. Oh well. :?p
If less people than expected turn up now it's their own fault.

the notification was only up for ~10 hours, a small minority will have actually seen it, and less will think it isn't a joke - i'm sure everyone will turn up.
that said, sorry if we worried you, but we really wouldn't just cancel an event like that. if we were going to, you would know about it.
there have been afew more shocking announcements today however (http://www.theinquirer.net/?article=15096)

We have the name and emails over everyone that fell for it, they will be contacted to be told it was joke - you lot are way to serious! Today is nation paranoia day - lighten up a little!!!
Oh they will also be named and shamed, hey Blackdeamon ;)

I admit that I put my name in there. Only because it was 3am when I looked on the site and didn't even realise the date or what was going on in general (sleep deprivation). Oh, you will also find one logged a bit later when I typed my name as "daveisacock". :?p

I'm not gonna even try to make excuses...I was stupid and didn't realise what day it was...i didn't even do ONE april fools joke...and thats just sad...in the past i've convinced my parents that our house had been robbed (my dad started to phone the police) & that my sister was dead :)
Ah well, there's always next year!!!

Yeah :) Thats what makes me laugh, we've done this every year and people still fall for it, old and new :P
Its great. \o/ Happy Fools Day! or how I like to think of it as National Paranoia Day.
