the BIG GAME is celebrating its 30th event early in 2012 and we look forward to seeing you there!

tBG XXX takes place from 18:00, Friday January 27th - 18:00 on Sunday 29th and is located in the ancestial home of the BIG GAME - Wildern School, Hedge End, Southampton SO30 4EJ.

Cost: £25 per person.

tBG XXX has the capacity for up to 80 gamers and will feature organised BIG GAMEs of popular titles, including the brand new release of Battlefield 3, the BIG GAMER tournament to win the golden joystick, the Saturday night pub quiz, and the BIG pizza run, as well as all the other gaming you can handle over 2 days and 2 nights.

Venue & Location Info

tBG XXX is located within the Wildern School grounds in Hedge End, just outside Southampton (Junction 7 off the M27). The venue is superb with excellent facilities on-site including super fast Internet and a large, well ventilated gaming area for up to 80 people with separate eating and sleeping areas. There is also a secure car park which will be locked overnight.

Within Hedge End there are tons of places to eat out or in including ALL of the main fast food eateries, (McD's, BK, KFC, Pizza Hut, as well as a superb fish and chip shop, and Chinese and Indian takeaways). There are also several large superstores within a few minutes walk of the site and an even larger shopping complex complete with a PC World (in case your PC takes a dump!) within 5 minutes drive.
We have maps of the local area at the event, to make sure you don't get lost if you do venture outside.

Event

tBG is a largely social LAN party with the emphasis on getting everyone together to play large communal games with as many players on each side as possible, whether it’s the latest and greatest FPS shooter, or games of a more classic nature, tBG is sure to be playing them. If you can't find the game you want to play, a quick post on our in-LAN Intranet will let you easily advertise the game so that you can organize it yourself and with Battlefield 3 being released, I'm sure we’ll be playing a game or 3 of that!!

The BIG GAMER tournament is a multi-discipline tournament in which attendees can participate in a event long league, scoring points in organized mini-tournaments. BIG GAMEs and other activities throughout the weekend will culminate in a showdown for the top scoring players in a mystery finale on the BIG screen at the front, with everyone else watching on. The diversity of the tournament means that all round gaming prowess and enthusiasm are rewarded, rather than concentrating on success in one game or genre, allowing for chilled out and fun gaming over the weekend.

tBG30 will also be bolstered by the attendance of the mighty Projector Games bringing along their newest titles including Tactics Forever providing entertainment throughout the LAN in epic spaceship combat! (afew of which may feature in the tournament!).

Games for tBG 30! To stand yourself in good stead we would recommend acquiring Quake3, Dawn Of War 2, Call Of Duty: Modern Warfare, Unreal tournament 2004, Team Fortress 2, Trackmania 2, F1 2010 and of course Battlefield 3 will be the main stay of the tournament fare with a few special rounds thrown in for good measure! Of course no matter what you bring you’re likely to be able to find someone else playing it.

Saturday night at tBG features the infamous BIG pizza run, attendees can order their Domino's pizza via the Intranet and have it hand delivered to the event by the crew, followed by the BIG GAME pub quiz into which teams can pit their wits against the contrived questions penned by the crew and score BIG GAMER points in the process!

On the social side of things there is plenty of downtime between BIG GAME tournaments and BIG GAMEs giving time to chill out with your mates and fellow gamers. Why not rock out and make some noise on the projectors playing Guitar Hero or whatever takes your fancy on the free to play Xbox, or join in with an epic scale game with Projector Games.

BIG GAMEs through the event ensure for a memorable and fun experience for all.

The event itself costs £25 or you can take advantage of our excellent group/clan discount offer and get your mates down, book 5 for the price of 4 (making it only £20 per head!)

My joystick is ready.

(good god that sounds wrong)

Also, are we migrating to F1 2011 this time? I'd say it would produce some more interesting racing what with KERS and DRS and stuff.

Unless the crew have magically figured out how to teleport an entire junction a couple of miles to the west just for a weekend (which wouldn't surprise me) that's probably worth changing.

We have a plan for the BF3 but we will have to see if it will come to fruition - if not, we can hire paint ball guns and have a metro game around the school ;)

Currently fixing up my server that I neglected to bring last time to go in the rack of doom, could the crew free up 2u of space for it (please)? Also gunna turn up at ~3 again to help set up and also do surgery on my PC to fit some new RAM (which might involve a heatsink replacement which is going to be a barrel of laughs)
