Heh, this is quite old now, but its totaly amazing! and runs very well on both my PC and Laptop :D:D:D
This is what makes me laugh if these guys can code a complete fps in under a meg, why is UT2k3 5gig?

Hmm cause there to lazy to even compress there textures, does make it looks sweet evn on my old geforce 4!

Lossless compression is cpu intensive prolly more intensive than generting textures from stractch.
I guess the truth in the matter is that small demo with very simple collision detection and a small set of textures, low poly count and a few modles is nothing compared to something like UT2K4, also think of the sounds...
Still I'm sure they could be better programed, and that demo shows what can be done.

cool tho the gammas set too low on mine so where things go darker than black they go funky colours :)
theres a version of quake floating around that runs off a floppy multiplayer only with all the sounds cutdown and stuff . . . still it rocked for school machines

Actually, I got lucky, both the RAM and the CPU where on "This week only" ;) so I saved ?30 or so. Though the cost of a new PSU to power the 4 HDs (2 SATA, 2 IDE), DVD-+RW, CD-RW, 9800XT, MOBO and CPU... was a bit exterme, but its a very nice PSU :), Also had to get a new mobo of course, becuase of the CPU, which is a mixed blessing, as I liked my previous board, but it didn't have x8 agp, so now my 9800XT proformes even better \o/
Before tBG I will also have a 20" TFT >.< Merry Chirstmas!

adn prey tell how much was that massive rig?
SlyDave

Its only an upgrade ... honest, Fishermans favorite knife, 3 news blade and 2 new handles.
All in all it cost to much, but could have easily cost more, the step up from 3500 to 3800 was an extra ?50, anything above 3800 cost more than everything I just bought.
