hmmm surely you could have shortened that and maybe said that 99 x10(to the power of)9 that would have done the trick. I'm just bored and making sure my new windows xp professional operating system works

And uses twice the resources, uses more CPU time, and general takes a nice percentage of that uber Computer got just to keep it running and looking 'nice'.

I'm personally running 2k on my PC and XP on my laptops and thats what all the uni computers are running too. I feel that 2k just has a more professional feel to it than XP, even the pro edition :P

Even when you make XP look like 2k they're not quite the same...small differences...for example:

2k start button:
http://gosh.ex.ac.uk/~cs02gk/2k_start.jpg

XP start button:
http://gosh.ex.ac.uk/~cs02gk/XP_start.JPG

I just think the XP one is too frilly!

I disagree this is the process thread from me pc, and mozilla is using more resources than explorer!

well i still say at the moment i'm happy if xp fucks me off then it could all change and i might go back to 2k but i'm fed up with doing work at uni on one version and then bringiing it home to another so thats why i swapped

I just find XP takes me longer to navigate as the more advanced options are harder to get to. Also XP = more complex version of 2k. Complexity = increase instability in any system.

See my 2k machine has 14 Processes running and after I did a clean up of the services I found out I only needed about 10 of them (3 being Norton Works, 1 mySQL, 1 IIS others Win required)

You can cut down the amount of RES' that IE uses be disableing 'launch windows in seperate processes' But this means if one IE window crashes it'll take the entire of IE with it and quite possibly explore too.

But I agree with Blackstar on most points, Xp reminds me of winME and look how shit that was :D

FYI tubbyman, if you want to type a (to the power of) symbol on a PC, press shift + 6 for this symbol "^". Easier than typing out the words I think :)
