Wasn't a bad weekend! Darkness, Offspring, Ash and the Hives were good on the first day. Saturday, Flogging molly were playing, about the only exciting thing on the schedule of Morrisey and the White Stripes.
And then came Sunday
Rasmus were forced off stage due to the barrage of bottles and mudballs.... :D
Dropkick Murphys were ok (could have been better).... as were Placebo, Lost Prophets and the Streets.
And the came 50 cent....
Ok, i'll be honest, I can't stand Hip Hop and all the culture that surrounds it.... I hate it with passion; 'bling bling', 'ya know what i'm say'in,' 'yo yo yo' etc... As did nearly all the other people who were there, and here was the golden opportunity to put these wankers where they belong...
When him as his little gang of street toughs aka 'G-Unit' came on stage, I along with hundreds threw whatever i could find at them. Respect to the guy who managed to get a chair up there :-) and the guy who had an England Flag which said '38p' on it. After the biggest barrage of bottles, chairs, mud, and chants of '50 cent is a wanker', they fled the stage... good riddance
And then came GreenDay.... which were awesome as usual :D
Overall a good festival.... a bit muddy maybe.... waking up in a puddle aint that pleasant ;).

There was loads of waiting around on Sunday as the artist list fell a bit short. New Found Glory pulled out, Rasmus lasted 1.1 songs and 50 cent lasted around 20 minutes, but Greenday must have been on for at least 2 hours and that made up for it :)

Greenday, the most value for money band ever, i mean come on a 21 track album, NOONE does albums that long anymore :)

I heard that the chair was chucked back, wounded someone and he got arrested?
I didn't go this year, couldn't really afford it, sounds however like the offspring produced a more convincing performance this time..

The chair was hilarious... 50 cent picked up and he was on the big screen, laughed and said something along the lines of 'what the fuck'....
yeah, the offspring were good!

no no no! its silly people like you that make me angry  for example, last year with good charlotte. I went to see them just cos there was nothing else on but i didn't throw anything. Their music isn't exactly my favourite in the world but y'know, its some peoples idea of a good time. I just felt really ashamed that I was part of a festival where people threw bottles of urine and such at bands. Has society really fallen to this low? Just imagine how they felt when bottles were flying at them. Just imagine the humilation of having to go home and tell your friends and family and children what happened. They are after all, people. The same with this year. When the bassist from The Rasmus got hit in the eye with the mud, I felt so bad even though i didn't do anything! Someone hurt another human being just because they didn't like the music? People get so upset because people call them 'gothics' and because they get abuse from townies because of what they believe in and the music they like. Have you not just done the same? The Rasmus, Good Charlotte and 50 Cent may not be your preference of music, but they may be for others who also paid money to come to the festival and didn't expect to be pelted with bottles of piss and mud. If you don't like the band thats on stage, simply turn around, walk away and go and investigate other tents.
Right, I'm done. I just hope you read this and try and put yourself in their shoes. Hopefully you'll discover the little part of you that you've never used before. Your concience.

I can tell you're angry, but mabye take it out on the enter key abit next time too? :p
Its reasonable to say that people should walk off and not bother these bands they don't like, but I'm sure they'd argue that they're justified in their actions because reading is only letting these people in as they get more and more commercial, and because the people would rather see bands they (the majority of the people who attend reading) like at their festival?
Good points though.

lol. yeah i did get a bit over excited and forgot to paragraph. This is not good considering I start uni soon and will have to write essays! No grammer and puncuation marks for Charlie! Yeah I understand how people are saying how reading is getting too commercial and stuff but to be honest, maybe it is better to be open minded and try out new artists once in a while. Ah i dunno. All i know is throwing bottles is wrong....
