EBuyer (http://www.ebuyer.com) does very well with not only cheap wireless routers from the big 4 Netgear, Dlink, Belkin and Linksys but also their own models which are normally made by Origio very good stuff highly reliable its what my networking "business" uses for wireless.
All depends on how fast you want it as the ebuyer ones tend to be either 22mbps or 11mpbs but they have just realeased a 54mbps one to compete with netgear and belkin which sell very well. Whatever you choose don't buy it from pc world was in there today and my god its rape some of thier prices

cheap isn't always good (duh) - i've personally had experiance with netgear and dlink wifi stuff, and i'd recommend dlink of the 2 (of course different models vary)
for standards, stick to 802.11b/g - do not for the love of god touch 802.11a, the range is even poorer than 802.11b/g. speaking of range, solid walls destroy wifi signals (and water totally kills them), so don't try and shoot through more than 2.
finally, 802.11g may claim 54mbps, but if its speed you're after run wires - wifi will be slow (basically like using a hub) and you won't get near the rated speeds, especially with encryption, which i would strongly recommend.

I work in PC World now, so I can tell you that some of the mark ups are, infact, rape!
90% mark up on cartridges for example!
And I've actually had a brief 1st thing on a saturday morning...
Ok guys, we've got a big day ahead on the run upto christmas. I want you to squeeze every penny you can out of every customer that comes through that door. Get them to buy the computer they need but then sell them loads of extras, especially get them on finance, we get even more of their money then!"
I was going to get a job there but I actually could lie that well. I have morals :P

trust me once you have worked in a sales job i.e. pc world or currys you will have no morals and u would be able to sell winter clothing to the devil himself!!
although i think with G working in PC world that means in at least 1 store in this country they have someone who knows about computers for a change. Still must be difficult not to laugh when people say they wanna buy a pc from u

I bought a laptop from PCworld
Most of their prices are stupidly high so the only time I ever buy anything from there is if I'm either desperate for something or I'm going to get a game and cba to go into town.
On wireless networks I'm running with an encrypted 54Mbit network with 3com products and it does the job. When you're just browsing the web and doing other little bits you hardly notice the bandwidth.
