Also alot of people will just come to tbg to play games, and will play cs for the fun of it. Everyone therefore has a valid opinion, including the crew as they are also gamers. I would like to see whatever played as long as there is a tournie that people can ENJOY and not get stressed over. After all isnt it all about the gaming and the having fun?

on one hand the cs is for the players, so they should decide.

on the other hand the cs is a hightly contested tourney, and if we don't run a fair one it makes lots of people unhappy, this is why we have to establish rules to run the tourney by..

Well i dont see how cs can be unfair, as long as everyone is running the same version, is told before the lan and also there is something like cd on the servers!
But the 1.6 crack is full of viruses and spyware (according 2 norton and adaware) so im not happy with it.
But if the servers are unstable, the tournie is no longer fair esp if a lead is wiped out and a rematch sorted where the other clan win. I stay out of this one now and see, as far as im concerned i dont care, we may even abstain due to this mess that has been created, and i wouldnt be happy after the mini lan experiece of the cracked 1.6 if it was used.

Just make sure when you come to the lan, you have working copies of 1.5 and 1.6 if you wish to play in the tournament

Aren't the people most often unhappy the one's still complaining ;) Now I understand that OUK did get a bum rap last time, partly due to time constraints on the tourney format and partly because I hadn't seen some of the teams play so seeding was difficult. This has been discussed with Tau and the same problems will not occur. As for the other issue of player swapping that was unfortunate, but resolved and the result stood.

I don't know what all the fuss is about, clearly the only people at fault here are Valve! I couldn't care if we played beta 6.5 - 1.6 as long as there are closely contested games which are exciting to play in this is all I'm after.

Everyone is having a hard time thanks to Valve and their cock up called Steam. I think you all need to take a chill pill and realise that it IS just a game, and we play games to have FUN. If you don't have fun playing it, and just worry about the tourney rules or what version will be played then frankly, what's the point in even playing? GC, you know as well as I do that the crew are trying their very best to sort out what is going on, and i'm sure it will all come together at the event to the best of their abilities.

Tbh, it was all this pointless fuss that made me stop playing CS years ago as unfortunately it seems the game has become far too intensely competitive and is no longer fun to play in my views :/ Maybe some people here need to take a step back and realise that games are for enjoyment and relaxation, and start to play them for this reason again. It's not just about winning or losing, if you have fun playing a game even if you lose at it, then it will most often be just as enjoyable an experience as winning. Also being beaten back in a loss will often make you come back stronger and ready for harder competition next time.

This is NOT a flame to anyone, so please don't take it the wrong way. I don't want to upset people, i never do. I just wish to state my views on the matter and hopefully people will get thinking about some points I have made.

lol, i never play cs anyway...the last time i played it was at the last BIG GAME. The only reason i be playin in this torny is for a laugh. I got no expectations of granduer, just to have a good time with some mates and play some good games. Quite frankly i agree with BD, the crew are doing their very best, and no matter what happens i'm sure every who plays will have a good time with good friends.

I would think that people would just be grateful that there is going to be a CS tourney at all. I used to play if for fun but this is precisely the reason i stopped playing it people just taking it all too far.
