View Full Version : Live music thing

Addz and Adam were talking... how would the collective masses feel about live music at the next event?
We're thinking of a Dj or two, and an appearance by a live electronica band.
What do you lot think?

It'd probably be a set per person. I can't say for the band, but a Dj set is usually an hour. Probably as a saturday afternoon/early evening thing, I'm thinking.

I think its a fantastic Idea, Sure the BIG GAME is about LAN gaming but theres no reason why there shouldn't be other destraction. we watch family guy whilst we eat pizza, so Can't see the harm in listering to a live band whilst I build my SimCity :D
And it people don't don't like the music, just slap on ya headphones and wack up the volume :P
Only thing Im concernd about is the volume, people didn't like Projector Games being so loud, so would be inviting a band onto the stage be scuh a great idea?
I'll leave it down to the vote.

Hmm...not sure if my little sensitive ears could handle it...still nice idea that if worked on could produce something nice and unusual for a change.

i think its a great idea love to hear some djs going at it etc etc !!!
i wouldnt like it at all, the music at the last big game was too loud and with live music, it would no doubt be louder, after a while its just irritating.

Yeah its had to be pre announced, and also not during tournie games, else some people may get anoyed, but as long as its not over the top it should be ok

Aye, we're talking about something organised, not some guy going 'hey, I'll turn my winamp playlist up loud'

And the music at the last tbg was v imprompitu, as it was just the projector games, duds pr0n and the movies/family guy which was 1337!

A couple of hours live music would not be bad at all. I don't think it would be as distracting as projector games noise because that went on for pretty much the whole event, whereas this it seems will only go on for a few hours on one of the days which would seem ok to me!

well i like the idea just not sure about the practicalities of it. People might get annoyed with it coz if you can't hear yourselfs speak then it kinda kills the social bit of the lan pity there isn't an undecided vote lol

I think you need to be careful about this only because this is a LAN event and not a concert. That said if it was slotted in an organised manor and was not hugely intrusive then it should be ok just make sure it doesnt clash with my pizza arriving.
:D
For example the last LAN had an excessive amount of noise at times so loud I was unable to hear the game I was playing. When you tell folks to bring headphones it would be nice if somebody informed the organisers ;)
Again if this is an attraction and scheduled it should be fine.
