Hi Big Gamers!

We just wanted to thank everyone who turned upto the event and made it great, Special congratulations to Blackstar whom ended Team Dakkas winning streak at tBG to become the BIG GAMER 27 and of course take home the much sort after coaxial cable! Many thanks also to Arcas and Er00 from Projector Games for the mass multiplayer excellance and the Spaceship game that took over the LAN for much of friday and saturday morning!.

Howdy Gamer Types!,

It's just 7 days until tBG27 kicks off and over 40 contenders ready battle it out to become the BIG GAMER golden joystick winner and BIG GAMER 27!

If you've already signed up and paid, excellent work, have a cookie!. If not, fear not, you can sign up at anytime up till the day of the event - signup here and then pay us with your interweb monies here.

Games list: for tBG 27 we'd recommend DoW2, Q3, Trackmania, TF2, UT, COD:MW will be the main stay of the tournament games but there WILL be many BIG GAMEs throughout the LAN so there is a good chance of some Battlefield or any particularaly awesome big multiplayer title. Also recently Alien swarm has become free to get on steam to this might also be well worth a download aswell as the free version of tribes2 available off the internetz.

Projector Games will also be in attendance at tBG27 for attendees to play in some brilliant large scale multiplayer action on the projectors, and we'll be organising large scale games throughout the event - there is talk of big gamer tourney points being involved aswell.

We also have consoles which you can play at anytime throughout the weekend, whether that be rocking out with your clan on Rockband or racing around the famous Lemans 24hr race track on Forza3. (Consoles are fully catered for so if you have one bring it along, additional power and network cables can be supplied to your desk if you fancy taking a break from PC gaming) You are sure to be kept entertained at tBG.

Well well, only 3 weeks to go until the event and over 30 contenders for the BIG GAMER golden joystick signed up already to participate!

The crew have been busy planning this event since the announcement and to answer demand, and because we can, this event will feature a broader selection of tournaments than ever. We've added 3 new tournament events ranging from entire LAN free-for-alls to events to show individual brilliance. There will even be the return of a previous BIG GAME classic :D

With summer finally here we thought what better time of year than to announce our 27th LAN party where we shall do all we can to block out its evil sun rays from your monitors!

the BIG GAME is celebrating its 27th event this summer, so if BIG multiplayer LAN gaming are your thing - You cant go far wrong with a BIG GAME :D



tBG XXVII takes place from 18:00 August 20th - 18:00 August 22nd. Located in Wildern School, Hedge End, Southampton SO30 4EJ.

tBG XXVII has the capacity for up to 100 gamers and will feature organised BIG GAMEs of popular titles, the BIG GAMER tournament to win the golden joystick, the Saturday night pub quiz and the BIG pizza run, as well as all the other gaming you can handle over 2 days and 2 nights.

Venue & Location Info

tBG XXVII is located within the Wildern school grounds in Hedge End, just outside Southampton (Junction 7 on the M27). The venue is superb with excellent facilities on-site including super fast internet and a nice, large, well ventilated gaming area for up to 100 people with separate eating and sleeping areas. There is also a secure car park which will be locked overnight.

Within Hedge End there are tons of places to eat out or in including ALL of the main fast food eateries, (McD's, BK, KFC, as well as a superb fish and chip shop, and Chinese and Indian takeaways). There are also several large superstores within a few minutes walk of the site and an even larger shopping complex complete with a PC World (in case your PC takes a dump!) within 5 minutes drive.
We have maps of the local area at the event, to make sure you don't get lost if you do venture outside.

Event

So what happens at the BIG GAME? Well I'm glad you asked. tBG27 will be boasting attendance by the mighty Projector Games crew for some awesome large scale projector game antics, plus with consoles available to play throughout the weekend, and regular tournaments to get involved in the variety at the LAN should be vast so you'll never be without something to play. Plus with the legendary BIG GAME pub quiz and Dominos Pizza run on the saturday you are sure for a good time.

Tournaments

The BIG GAMER Tournament is back on at this event of course and with BIG GAMERs from many previous events in attendance we are set for the ultimate showdown including our most recent BIG GAMER, Hex from team Dakka. Do you have the required skills to out do him in a whole host of gaming genres? At this event we'll have a whole host of FPS games plus some RTS and of course a smattering of Projector Games tournaments plus many big games aswell including games such as TF2 and Battlefield which you will be able to enter and gain points towards the (frankly fabulous) BIG GAMER finale and the ultimate prize of all - the BIG GAMER Trophy.

Tournaments at this Event Include:
Quake3 1v1 (with LIVE action and real-time expert commentary on the projector by Jynx and Ripper for the semi and final (assuming they arn't playing!))
2v2 Dawn Of War 2
5v5 Call Of Duty: Modern Warfare
Trackmania
Plus many ranked BIG Games throughout the weekend.

Signing Up

The event itself costs £25 or you can take advantage of our excellent group/clan discount offer and get your mates down, book 5 for the price of 4 (making it only £20 per head!) and once this is complete, simply sign upto our forums and select which seat you'd like Simples!!

Additional Services

Consoles - Please bring them as it's always good to have a bit of a change for a while and relax (additional power ports and network cables arn't a problem Please check the forums for games you'll need to get the most out of your console - it's never fun missing out on the action.
We have a huge range of technical expertise at the event so any problem you encounter with your PC we should be able to help solve.

Other Features

The site features a secure car park which is locked at night.
High speed (20Mb) internet connection.
Separate male and female showers & toilets.
Disabled access throughout the entire venue.
Large fridge, cold/hot water, and microwave facilities are available.
